Research



With more than thirty years of research experience, Mary can help you find your ancestors. Research can focus on one individual or an entire family tree. Mary consults a wide variety of sources, including census records, vital records, military records, court records, historical newspapers, and many more types of records to piece together a picture of your ancestor's life.


Assisting historians and authors, Mary conducts research using original documents on historical people, places, and events. She specializes in New Mexican, Southwestern, and Midwestern research.


Regional Specialty

Living in New Mexico, Mary specializes in New Mexican research. Many New Mexicans can trace their roots back for 300 years or more. Mary also conducts research related to Santa Fe Trail traders. She frequently researches at the following repositories:

  • New Mexico State Records Center and Archives - Santa Fe
  • Fray Angelico Chavez Library, Palace of the Governors - Santa Fe
  • Genealogy Center - Albuquerque
  • Center for Southwest Research, University of New Mexico - Albuquerque

RESEARCH Projects



After discussing the services you need, all clients receive a written agreement spelling out the terms of the agreement. All clients receive a fully documented, written report along with any relevant photocopies of research findings. Research findings are unpredictable. It's a rare occasion when no documents can be found for an ancestor, but it does happen. Even if the research problem isn't solved, you still receive a report detailing the records consulted. No findings can be guaranteed.

  • Extensive research conducted on Colonel Joshua B. Brant, one of the wealthiest and most influential men in nineteenth century St. Louis.
  • Extensive research conducted on Henry O'Neill, nineteenth century Santa Fe Trail trader and Santa Fe, New Mexico, businessman.
  • Extensive research on eight generations of a Midwestern family tracing its roots to Maryland in the early 1700s.
  • Research on many New Mexican families dating to the 1600s.
  • Extensive experience researching WWII submarine sailors and Civil War veterans.
  • Experience conducting research throughout the United States in numerous repositories.
